Обратно броене на преполовяване на биткойн: какво означава за крипто
Дата: 22.02.2025
Depending on the source, the Bitcoin halving is just around five to eight days away, so roughly a week. But how does Bitcoin's halving impact the cryptocurrency market? That’s the topic we’re exploring today. Bitcoin’s mining reward is halved approximately every four years, or after 210,000 blocks have been mined. Mid-April 2024 marks the next halving event. Historically, Bitcoin halvings have led to significant market boosts, but what can we expect in 2024? In some ways, the economic environment is different now, with inflation higher than usual over the past decade, concerns about U.S. government debt, geopolitical uncertainty, and relatively high asset prices, especially in real estate. Despite these factors, we are still a bit away from the peak of this cycle for Bitcoin and crypto in general. Historically, prices tend to rise with each cycle, so many expect Bitcoin to reach $100,000 before the summer or before 2024 ends. But first, let’s analyze Bitcoin’s price movements this year.

Bitcoin Price Movement Since the Beginning

At the beginning of the year, Bitcoin stood at $42,220. We’re measuring in USD because it’s still the leading currency and will likely remain so as long as the U.S. retains its global dominance.

On January 23, 2024, Bitcoin dropped to $39,500, then started to recover. By March 14, 2024, Bitcoin reached a new all-time high of $73,097. Since then, the price has fluctuated between $70,000 and $71,000. A breakout could happen at any time. If it occurs before the halving, there may be a drop in price, but after the halving, a gradual upward trend is more likely, potentially reaching new highs. What do you think? Consider trading Bitcoin with low spreads from a trusted trading platform.

Will History Repeat Itself? What Happens After Bitcoin’s Halving?

By analyzing Bitcoin’s price history around previous halvings, we can get a glimpse of how the market might react. Let’s look at past halving periods:

The first Bitcoin halving occurred on November 28, 2012. The block reward dropped from 50 to 25 BTC. At the time, Bitcoin was relatively unknown.

Цена преди: $12–14
Highest price in 2013: $ 1,152

The second halving took place on July 16, 2016, when the reward dropped from 25 to 12.5 BTC.

Цена преди: $ 665
Highest price in 2017: $ 17,760

On May 11, 2020, the third halving occurred, reducing the reward from 12.5 to 6.25 BTC. The price had nearly halved from the 2017 peak, but Bitcoin’s price followed the same pattern as before despite the pandemic.

Цена преди: $ 9,732
Highest price in 2021: $ 67,549

The fourth halving is expected just after institutional investors began investing in Bitcoin ETFs, potentially affecting the price. The reward will drop to 3.125 BTC, but will Bitcoin rise as it has before? We’ll have to wait and see.

Цена преди: $ 70,000– $ 71,000
Highest price in 2025: Still to be determined!

How to Celebrate the Bitcoin Halving?

The Bitcoin halving happens every four years, and it’s time for the next one. There are several events around the world in celebration.

One of the major events is the European Halving Party in Warsaw, which is part of the Bitcoin Film Festival. This event includes more than just films—it features discussion panels, the chance to pitch your Bitcoin movie, and workshops where attendees can learn more about filmmaking.
