Ще надмине ли биткойн рекордния си връх тази седмица?
Дата: 14.01.2025
If you'd asked us just a week ago whether Bitcoin (BTC) would surpass its November 2021 high in February, we would've been quite doubtful. Even when considering the upcoming halving event, we were not overly optimistic. However, in a surprising turn of events, it looks like the all-time high (ATH) could very well be broken before the end of the week. As March 1 approaches, we might find ourselves in a world where Bitcoin reaches its highest point ever. In fact, in recent hours, Bitcoin has already surpassed ATH in various countries due to the weakening value of their respective fiat currencies. But more on that in a moment. Of course, it’s in the United States, and to a lesser extent the UK and EU, where people are keeping their eyes glued.

To put it simply, Bitcoin mining is like a digital gold rush. Instead of shovels and pickaxes, miners use computers to solve intricate puzzles, and when they succeed, they’re rewarded with Bitcoin. This process is called “mining,” and it’s how new Bitcoins are added to circulation.

The “halving” event occurs roughly every four years. In essence, the reward for mining Bitcoin blocks is cut in half. This is done to keep the supply of Bitcoin in check and make it scarce, similar to gold. Initially, miners received 50 Bitcoins per block. After the first halving, it dropped to 25, then to 12.5, and so on.

By reducing the supply of new Bitcoins, the halving makes the cryptocurrency more scarce, which could affect its price. It’s similar to gold becoming harder to find, which would likely make the gold that’s already out there more valuable.

Since starting this post, BTC has actually surpassed its all-time high against various fiat currencies, particularly due to the decline in their value. Examples include the fiat currencies in South Korea and Australia. However, the real focus remains on the US dollar.

The recent surge in Bitcoin’s value has been driven by the weakening of several fiat currencies, leading to a drop in their buying power due to rising inflation. Experts suggest that Bitcoin’s recent rally beyond the $57,000 resistance level marks the beginning of a new phase, especially with the halving event only 49 days away.

Какво следва за Bitcoin?

At this point, it seems almost certain that Bitcoin will break its ATH against the dollar. For most Bitcoin enthusiasts, it’s just a matter of when. The team at Criptochipy.com would be genuinely surprised if there were a pullback before the ATH is reached. However, as always, anything can happen in the world of crypto.

Historically, Bitcoin has increased by at least 270% following each halving event. After the 2012 halving, its value rose from $12 to $964. Similarly, in 2016, it surged from $660 to $2,500, and in 2020, it skyrocketed from around $8,500 to $68,783 within just over a year.

Each price surge can be attributed to different factors. For example, the 2017 increase to $17,000 was fueled by retail investors, while the 2021 spike to nearly $69,000 was driven by institutional investment. In 2024, institutional involvement is again making a significant impact, particularly with large daily investments in newly launched spot Bitcoin ETFs in the U.S.

These Bitcoin ETFs are attracting nearly $500 million in daily investments, with new Bitcoin supply barely meeting a tenth of this demand. This combination of strong institutional demand and constrained supply, intensified by the halving, is expected to push Bitcoin’s price higher post-halving.

Прогнози за цената на биткойн за 2024-2025 г

Some analysts predict a ‘left-translated cycle,’ meaning the cycle high might occur sooner than expected, potentially in 2024 rather than 2025. If this happens, we could see a rapid increase in Bitcoin’s price over a few months, followed by a gradual decline toward the end of 2026.

Some estimates suggest a 3x increase in Bitcoin’s value from November 2021’s ATH, reaching new highs in 2024-2025. Others predict a ‘supercycle,’ where Bitcoin’s price could soar to astronomical levels. According to some Bitcoin maximalists, Bitcoin could rise anywhere from $100,000 to $1 million.

Of course, not all analysts share this optimistic view. Legendary investor Warren Buffett, for instance, remains skeptical about Bitcoin’s future, calling it “stupid” and claiming it could eventually go to zero. However, he also views Bitcoin as a threat to the US dollar, which explains his negative stance.
